The School of Science is committed to achieving excellence in its educational programs. Students receive formalized instruction, hands-on research experiences, didactic and clinical experiences for professional programs; technical training for prospective commissioned officers in the US Navy, Marine Corps or Navy Nurse Corps, and outreach opportunities. Students attend and present their research at scientific conferences where they meet and network with scientists and other students in like disciplines, as well as with recruiters from industry, government, scientific laboratories and graduate schools. Students are encouraged to participate in summer internships or research programs. The Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics provide the academic preparation for students contemplating health careers.
