HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 17, 2018) – Hampton University’s premier performance group, the Ebony Fire Dance Team, is vying for a chance to win $20,000 in the HBCU Dance Corporation’s ‘Radiant Dance Off’ online voting contest.
According to the contest website, the ‘HBCU Dance #RadiantDanceOff Contest’ is a video dance competition offered to 2018 official female marching band dance teams of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) as nominated for participation by their current team director, sponsor, advisor or coach.
Beginning Monday, October 15, members of the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite team online at – with the voting period ending Monday, October 29. To cast a vote, each individual must register by providing a valid email address and clicking the “vote” button. Votes will be limited to one vote per person/email, according to the contest’s official rules.
After the voting period ends, the five teams with the most number of votes will face off head-to-head to compete for the top prize of $20,000.
Formed in 1983, the Ebony Fire Dance team of Hampton University is the official dance team of the Marching Force, performing at all football and basketball games, as well as other special University events. The team is comprised of a group of talented young women – specializing in several forms of modern and competitive dance.
