HAMPTON, VA. (April 4, 2019) — Although they experienced on and off rain shower during High School Day, the students visiting the campus were enthusiastic and anxious to learn about the college experience. The Hampton University Student Recruitment Team met, and exceeded expectations in greeting the students. The administration and academic staff were on board to answer questions about admissions, financial aid, security, religious activities, and career services office and many other staff offices. Representation from the School of Business, Nursing, Pharmacy, Natural Sciences, The Harvey Leadership Institute, among others, were equipped with students to answer questions of parents and their children.
Competition is stiff among Colleges/Universities for students. Dean of Admissions Angela Boyd, shared that the Admission Office issues at least 8,000 acceptance letters, in order to enroll 1000 students, which is the target enrollment for the incoming freshman class.
The bottom line is, as Alumni, we need to do our part to reach out to young men/women to come to Hampton. The competition is stiff to attract the the best and brightest students.
