HAMPTON, VA (October 3, 2019) — Hampton University welcomes the parents and family members of the class of 2023 to our "Home by the Sea" for the 59th Annual Parents Weekend. The weekend-long event will give parents and other family members the opportunity to experience university life here at HU.
"On behalf of the Hampton University family, I welcome the parents and family members who have sacrificed to share this weekend with our students to Hampton University," said Dr. William R. Harvey, Hampton University President. “The Office of Student Activities, the Student Leadership Program and the Student Government Association have planned a weekend of exciting events for our families to enjoy. We wish you a safe and fun weekend and look forward to the interactions."
The weekend kicks off with classroom visitations and campus tours. Later Friday evening, watch a host of wonderful young women compete for the crown at the annual Miss Hampton Pageant followed by the Parents Night Out Talent Show.
Saturday’s events begin with remarks from Dr. William R. Harvey, prior to the Parents’ Information Fair. Following the fair, the National Pan-Hellenic Council is hosting a Parent’s Weekend Cookout from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. and the HU vs North Alabama football game kicks off at 2p.m. That evening, parents are invited to attend the Denim & Blazers Soiree from 9 p.m.- 1 a.m.
Whether you're in the mood for a football game or a little dancing, the weekend is packed full of events especially tailored for parents.
