Hampton University Welcomes Lamman Rucker, star of Hit TV Show 'Greenleaf'

HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 13, 2017) –The Hampton University School of Liberal Arts and Education will host "Greenleaf’s" Lamman Rucker for a special campus lecture on Monday, October 16 at 2pm in Ogden Hall. 

Rucker will provide a special lecture on “The Liberal Arts, Entertainment Industry, and Community Uplift”. Mr. Rucker is an Actor, Educator, and Entrepreneur, who began his career on the daytime soap operas "As the World Turns" and "All My Children", before roles in Tyler Perry’s films "Why Did I Get Married?", "Why Did I Get Married Too?", and "Meet the Browns" in its television adaptation. In 2016, he began starring as Jacob Greenleaf in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series, "Greenleaf". 

Rucker received nominations (2011, 2010) for the NAACP Image Awards for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series. 

This event is free and open to students and faculty.
