HAMPTON, Va. (Aug. 16, 2017) – Hampton University continues to make a name for itself with respected publications. US News and World Report, The Princeton Review and Money Magazine have all named Hampton University one of its top schools.
For more than 25 years, The Princeton Review has been a trusted resource for parents and students in choosing the best college. In a letter, The Princeton Review wrote, “Congratulations to Hampton University on being named one of the Best Colleges as well as a Best Regional College.”
Money Magazine ranked Hampton University for its ability to give students and parents, in their words, “the best return on their investment after graduation.”
US News & World Report ranked Hampton University a top school in four categories. As a historically black college and university, the publication ranked Hampton University in its top five. Hampton University landed a top 20 ranking in the southern region and a top 15 pick for veterans. Hampton University was also recognized for its engineering degrees and programs.
Hampton University was also featured in US News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” section in an article titled, “Common Reasons Why College Applications Get Rejected.” The article quoted just a handful of deans from universities across the country, including Hampton University’s Dean of Admissions, Angela Boyd.
"The fact that such a highly respected and prestigious publication such as US News & World Report would value Hampton University's opinion speaks volumes. Their interest in historically black colleges and universities not only benefits their credibility, but the quality and caliber of perspective Hampton University students as well," Hampton University Dean of Admission Angela Nixon Boyd said.
In the area of research and mentorship, Virginia Living Magazine named Hampton University one of its top four-year colleges to attend in 2016.
And in the arena of non-traditional schooling, Hampton University Online is making waves too. In 2017 Hampton University was named a top-10 HBCU with online programs by Online College Plan. For two years running, Affordable Colleges Online has ranked Hampton University a top 5 online school in Virginia. And, according to The Center for Online Education, which ranked the top online universities in the commonwealth, Hampton University is a top 10 selection.
