HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University's online program does it again, this time ranked among the top 10 in a recent poll from Onlinecollegeplan.com. The site recently ranked historically black colleges and universities with the best online programs and Hampton University Online ranked near the top of that list. Hampton University achieved its high ranking based on its incredible quality of education and for the variety of online degree programs offered.
“We are extremely honored for the recognition as one of the best HBCUs offering online programs. As a leader in learner centered education, focusing on relevant programs that build the skills and capabilities of our students, we are the web-based virtual campus that allows our students to study online anytime and anywhere,” said Dr. Kim Luckes, dean of University College. “Our online certificate and degree programs will aid students in their professional growth and provide them with the credentials they need to be effective leaders of today and tomorrow.”
With 107 historically black colleges for students to choose from throughout the country, Hampton understands the importance of providing the best education possible. Currently, Hampton offers 48 bachelor programs, 23 master programs, eight doctoral programs, two professional programs and eight certification programs. Many of these academic programs are also available in an online and asynchronous format to allow “distance learning” students to obtain a quality education from Hampton.
Recognizing the crucial aspect of job placement beyond graduation, Hampton Online students also have access to the Career Counseling and Planning Center. The center provides resources and information for job search workshops and networking opportunities with potential employers.
North Carolina A&T State University, the largest HBCU in the country, topped the ranking list followed by Tougaloo College in Mississippi. Like Hampton, both universities offer online programs in an asynchronous format, allowing for a very customizable experience for students to complete their program of choice.
