Hampton, VA. – Hampton University students Talia Sharpp and Adaya Sturkey will soon head to the United Kingdom after winning this year's English-Speaking Union Luard Morse Scholarship.

The two ladies will receive $25,000 to study for one semester at any university in the UK.
"Talia and Adaya represent the highest caliber of student-scholars in our country,” said the English-Speaking Union Luard Morse Scholarship Committee.
Since 1969, the ESU has provided the English-Speaking Union Luard Morse Scholarship to students attending United Negro College Fund schools.
"I believe it is a source of joy for all educators to have students who are resourceful, purpose-driven, selfless and intelligent," said Dr. Sabin Duncan, Director of the Freddye T. Davy Honors College. "My interactions with Talia Sharpp and Adaya Sturkey are a source of great joy. Their selection as Luard Morse Scholarship winners is just one impressive milestone in what I believe will be a lifetime of impressive achievement through improving the lives of others."
