HU Honors the Life and Legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with March and Program

Hampton, Va.- The Hampton University Student Government Association in conjunction with the Office of Student Activities will host the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. march and program Jan. 18 at the campus. 

The march begins at 10 a.m. at Emancipation Drive and ends at Ogden Hall on campus. Immediately following the march is the University program honoring King in Ogden Hall at 11 a.m. 

The  Rev. Dr. Jerome A. Barber, of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple, will offer the program’s opening prayer and the keynote address will be given by Pastor Akeem Zarell Walker.

Pastor Walker serves as the 16th Pastor of the First Baptist Missionary Church of Powellsville, North Carolina. Pastor Walker also serves as the Pastor of Ministry Development at the Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple in Hampton, VA. under the leadership of Rev. Barber.
