An eventful schedule bright and early on day one began for NBCUniversal recruiters with a featured interview on HU's "The View From Hampton U" led by English and Film Studies Professor Eleanor Earl, Executive Producer/Director of "The View From Hampton U," Director Film Studies.

On Friday Jan. 15, the Hampton University Pre-Health program inducted 76 new students into the program. The graduate and undergraduate students who received their white coats are pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, physical therapy and physicians assistants.
"At Hampton University, we are committed to the development of well-informed premedical students who will enter the health professions workforce and one day take care of us," said Dr. Michael Druitt, program director.

On Jan. 21, 75 freshmen became the newest inductees in the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute. The inductees were officially pinned by the Interim Director of WRHLI Dr. Desiree Williams. The fellows were also treated to remarks by a WRHLI graduate Attorney Brandon M. Northington. Northington is an Assistant State's Attorney for the state of Maryland. He received a bachelor's degree in business management and a minor in leadership studies from HU in 2010 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida A&M University. Northington told the inductees that leadership comes in various forms, positions, and places in life.
