Second year physical therapy students were officially launched into their career field during Hampton University's White Coat Ceremony last week on Sept. 12, 2015. Students in the Class of 2017 were able to gain a sense of the Department of Physical Therapy's core values, which include: competency, leadership, compassion, integrity and service.

Hampton University students took detailed notes, asked germane questions, and received answers straight from the mouth of Bloomberg News' Editor-In-Chief Emeritus, Matthew Winkler. Topics of lively discussion ranged from: The birth of Bloomberg L.P. in 1981, The Bloomberg Way's Five Fs, and the revolutionary news terminal that propelled journalism into the digital age.

The Hampton University Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders has received a grant from the Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (DOE-OSEP) in the amount of $1.2 million entitled “A Training Program in Speech-Language Pathology for Minority Scholars to Work in High Poverty Schools." This grant will allow the Department to provide tuition assistance to 24 highly qualified Graduate Program candidates. These Scholars will be focused on the acquisition of knowledge and the development of the specialized skills sets requisite for working with children living in high-need local education areas.
