The Hampton Pirate’s 37-19 victory over the Howard Bison in the 2015 Nation’s Football Classic came on the 1,000 game in the program’s history. To commemorate this milestone here is a historic look back at some of the important names NS dates and in Pirate Football program history.

  • First Game: 1902 vs. Armstrong Manual Training School (W, 16-0).
  • Head Coaches: 20 (first: Tony Monroe).
  • Winningest Head Coach: Joe Taylor (16 seasons, 136-48-1).
  • First Winning Season: 1905 (4-1).
  • First Undefeated Season: 1913 (6-0).
  • First CIAA Championship: 1913.
  • 100th Win: 1930 vs. Bloomfield College (19-18).
