Hampton University has several events slated for Black History Month. The month's theme is "The Hillman Project: A Different World." All activities are sponsored by the HU Office Student Activities and are open to the public. For more information call 757.727.5691.
The Hampton University Martin Luther King Jr. march and program was Jan. 19 on the University campus. The march began at 10 a.m. at Emancipation Oak and ended at Ogden Hall, where the program was held. The program began with an opening prayer by the Rev. Dr. Jerome A. Barber, of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple, and also included an address by HU NAACP College Chapter President Brielle Lewis.
