Hampton University Greek Life

The Hampton University Greek community grew during the month of November as five of the historically African-American International Greek lettered organizations initiated new members. Student Activities Director Anzell Harrell serves as the advisor of the Pan Hellenic Council, and said he is happy about additions to the various organizations.

"I am glad that Greek life is healthy and growing at HU," he said.


The Beta chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. initiated one new member into their organization. Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. has been serving the campus of HU since 1967.

The Gamma Epsilon chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. initiated eight new members into their organization. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. has been serving the campus of HU since 1947.

The Gamma Iota chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. initiated 12 new members into their organization. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. has been serving the campus of HU since 1947.

The Rho Alpha chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. initiated eight new members into their organization. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. has been serving the campus of HU since 1947.

The Zeta Xi chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. initiated three new members into their organization. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. has been serving the campus of HU since 1975.
