Hampton University Fifth Year MBA Student Abrianna Anderson was awarded the Dr. Donald H. Driemeir Fellowship Award from Sigma Beta Delta International Honors Society.
Anderson was recognized for her academic achievements with lifetime membership in Sigma Beta Delta honor society last year. As a sophomore Anderson was selected to serve as a Speakers Roundtable Team Leader, which is a component of the Leadership Program. Anderson is also involved with the Society of Business Professionals where she has delivered professional development seminars for local high school students.
"Winning this award is a reward for all my hard work," said Anderson. "Sigma Beta Delta only recognizes the top 20 percent of juniors and top 15 percent of seniors. The networking and scholarship opportunities that come with this are amazing."
HU Business Professor Dr. Ziette Hayes credits Anderson with providing immense contributions to students on campus who need educational assistance.
"Abrianna was invited to membership to Sigma Beta Delta based on her academic excellence," said Hayes. "However, her aspirations to take on challenging projects and leadership roles speak to her strong desire to grow professionally, which made her a prime nominee for this award."
Following graduation, Anderson will head to Target's corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn. to work as a merchandise planning business analyst.
