The Hampton University School of Pharmacy had its 13th annual White Coat ceremony, at which 60 students took their pledge of professionalism as they begin their pharmacy career. The event's reflection speaker was Dr. Delisa Lemon, who is currently a Clinical Pharmacist at Amerigroup Corporation in Norfolk, Va. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from HU in 2012.
The Hampton University School of Nursing (HUSON) was selected as one of only 100 schools of nursing in the nation to receive funding to initiate annual White Coat Ceremonies for its students. The ceremonies are designed to instill a commitment to providing compassionate care among future health professionals, and are customary for medicine, pharmacy and physical therapy professions.
