The fourth season of "The View from Hampton U" will air at noon Nov. 16 on COX-11. The first episode will introduce viewers to the new hosts, HU alums and Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications graduates, Stephanie Sutton '08 and Joseph Walters '05. The program airs Fridays at 6:30 p.m., Saturdays at noon, and Sundays at 3 p.m.
The show is executive produced by HU President Dr. William R. Harvey, and Eleanor Earl, Assistant Professor of English and Cinema Studies. Earl also serves as HU's Cinema Studies Program Coordinator, and is a 2009 recipient of the Edward L. Hamm Sr. Distinguished Teaching Award. Show viewers will learn about the school's outstanding academic programs, high-caliber faculty, groundbreaking research and record-shattering athletics, she said
"I felt it befitting to select two of HU's best and brightest alumni to host our fourth season," Earl said. "Our new hosts will bring a great deal of expertise and panache to the show."
Walters, a journalist and videographer, has worked with Radio One's internship program where he transferred his skills from working in radio to television, becoming the host of a local entertainment show called "Da Circuit." Walters has interviewed several celebrities and covered a great deal of community events. He has also worked with MyGoodLyfe.com, an online magazine in which he was instrumental in the writing and editing sports, entertainment, and local news articles.
Sutton has worked for WVEC Channel 13, MyGoodLyfe.com, Lynk News and Cox Channel 11 as a reporter, host, and show producer. She is one of the creators of OliveCocoMag.com, a magazine of "Culture, Style, and Intelligence for Women Of All Tones." As the Director of Media Relations and the Host/Producer of OliveCocoTV, Sutton has covered various red carpet events across the country including "Athletes vs. Cancer In Los Angeles" and "New York Fashion Week" runway shows.
