HU Department of Aviation Offers Classes for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The Hampton University Department of Aviation is adapting to the changing landscape of aviation by offering classes in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones.

The unmanned vehicle arena is a new and evolving market. All industries will be effected by the implementation of unmanned vehicles, including emergency services, construction, real estate, agriculture, media production, medical professionals, search and rescue, logistics, supply operations and much more.

With Dr. and Mrs. William R. Harvey's latest $100,000 gift to the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute, HU's University President has given more than $3 million to the institution of higher learning that has grown exponentially under his leadership. That personal donation dollar amount is $3,066,327. The gift speaks to the couple's heartfelt commitment to the "Standard of Excellence" that is Hampton University. Dr. William R. Harvey and Mrs. Norma B. Harvey are more than President and First Lady of the Hampton University community. They have dedicated their lives to the success of the university.

Hampton Students Encouraged to Compete in Yellow Cab of Hampton Mural Contest

Hampton University art students are invited to participate in a public art contest. Yellow Cab of Hampton is accepting mural design submissions and the winning design will be painted on the wall of 12 S. Armistead Avenue in historic Downtown Hampton, Virginia.

The Yellow Cab of Hampton Mural Contest is open to Hampton Roads college students studying art or graphic design. The deadline for submissions is midnight on February 29, 2016. Yellow Cab will chose the 10 designs to post on the project website from March 14-March 20, where the public will be allowed to vote daily for their favorite mural.
